with less RWHP. My 95 was stage 3... pure stage 3...full cats, stock pulley, stock clutch, etc... just intake, exhaust, and boost to 15psi. I ran several BPU Supra's that have dyno'ed anywhere from 350 RWHP - 430 RWHP. The only one I lost to was a 98 BPU... with all the +'s. Ran him from a 60 punch and I had a car length until about 120 when he'd be even and pulling away... but still that's a ~330 RWHP Z vs. a 400 RWHP Supra (400 on pump gas). I raced another 98 with basic BPU... intake, exhaust, downpipe, BCC, evc to 19psi... he dyno'ed like 378 RWHP on pump gas. I ran him 4 times in a row on the highway... all about 40 or 50 punches. I told him I would let off at 120 MPH because I didnt trust my low tread rear tires at higher speeds. I took him by a car length each time we raced. The only time he was even with me is when my clutch slipped on the 4th race and he pulled even... then my clutch grabbed and I sloooooowly pulled about 1/4 of a car length from about 70 up to about 120. But still a win. A Z vs. a Supra at equal HP levels the Z has the advantage at a high speed race... a highway race. This is because the Supra's top end is somewhat hurt by the sequential turbo setup. I did not race a Supra with TTC (true twin converson...both turbos spool at the same time, like the Z)... I am sure it would be a better race with TTC on the highway. I bet that 378 RWHP would have beaten me by 1-2 car lengths on the highway if he was running in TTC mode. Also if they have that traction fuse in place then a Z will kill a Supra off the line stock vs. stock because that stock traction system kills the performance of the car...but when that fuse is pulled then they really have the advantage and the sequential turbo setup will have the supra pulling car lengths on a Z.
